Lieutenant, Canadian Army - Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force Served in the 14th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, Quebec Regiment Killed in action near St. Julien, Belgium on Saturday, April 24,1915 Buried in Belgium - Recorded on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial George was 27 years old. -

Eldest Son of Huntley Stairs & Emma Hannah Cook
Private, Canadian Army # 445024 - Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force.
Enlisted June 19, 1915 in the 55TH Battalion and sailed from Montreal, Que. aboard the S.S. Corsican October 30, 1915. Arrived in England on November 9, 1915 where he was transferred to the 60TH Battalion, Infantry. Shipped to France and on June 6, 1916 joined his fighting unit.
Killed in action eight days later on Wednesday, June 14 ,1916. Buried in Belgium - Recorded on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Hazen was 19 years old. -
