Matthew Lowe, who resided near Chase with his daughter, Mrs. E. Lee Kinney, died of pneumonia last Saturday. He has been feeble for some time. He was highly respected and his death is deeply mourned. He leaves surviving him, besides the daughter above named, a daughter Mrs. J. C. Crum, of Detroit, Kansas (original was a typo), and two sons, George Lowe of Chapman, Kansas and Isaac C. Lowe of Weaubleau, Mo. Mr. Lowe was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Abilene, Kansas. His funeral occured, Monday of this week by the Rev. F. E. Gaige of Hartwick. Interment in the family plot near Toddsville.
