Alonzo is indeed considered the Founding Father of "New Town" San Diego, California. He was born in Union, Connecticut, and died in San Diego, CA. Alonzo was an American real estate developer in the nineteenth century. The Horton Plaza mall in downtown San Diego is named for him. Among other things he helped found the first Unitarian Church in San Diego. -
