C. Rienk R. Eelkema, 22, Grand Forks, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, as a result of an auto accident.

C. Rienk Eelkema was born Dec. 13, 1976, the son of Robert and Virginia (Kiesau) Eelkema, in Grand Forks, where he graduated from high school in 1994. He was attending UND as a physical education major. In January 1994, he started Championship Tae Kwon Do schools in Grand Forks and the surrounding area. He married Kristina Fossum on Oct. 16, 1999.

He is survived by his wife; parents; a grandmother, Jean Kiesau, Grand Forks; and siblings, Susan (Tom) Lundeen, Waco, Texas, Barbara (Harold) Helm, Drayton, N.D., Kathryn (Jeff) Schulte, Minnestrista, Minn., Jennifer (Mitch) Davis, Annapolis, Md., Emily Eelkema and Robert Eelkema, both of Alexandria, Va., R. Scott (Lois) Pearson, Manvel, N.D., Cynthia Pearson, Richmand, Va., Wade (Dianne) Pearson, Buxton, N.D., and Chad (Mette) Pearson, Woodbury, Minn.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Herman Henry and Ruth Eelkema and M.W. Bob Kiesau.
