Catherine H. (Heckman) Smith, of Quincy died at John Adams Healthcare Center on Oct. 27, 2010 after a long period of failing health. She was 95 years old. Born in Belmont, MA, raised in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and Quincy, MA. Graduated from Boston University with a degree in Education in 1937. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Quincy for many years. She also attended the First Presbyterian Church, Quincy. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, doing fancy hand work and travelling. Catherine is the beloved wife of late Albert H. Smith and loving mother of A. Howard Smith Jr. and Roberta C. Smith, both of Quincy. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., Quincy from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral at the Deware Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. Interment in Terrace Hill Cemetery, South Walpole.
