MORTON, IL - Dorothy M. Crossman, 87, of Morton, formerly of Beason, Ill., passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Restmor Nursing Home in Morton.

Dorothy was born on Feb. 12, 1923, the daughter of Leonard and Eva Pennington Burwell at Midland City, Ill. She married Harry Dale Crossman on June 3, 1943, in Pampa, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2004.

Her parents and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Dayle Schertz of Morton and Vickie Sue (Steve) Herman of Washington; one son, Tommy Lee (Susan) Crossman of Spring Hill, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was an insurance clerk at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for many years and then self-employed at N&D Insurance Billing Service Center in Clinton.

She was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women.

Burial will be in Keys Cemetery in Beason, Ill.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Apostolic Christian Restmor for the wonderful care and compassion shown to "Dot" over the years.
