Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer.
He had a distinguished career in Naval intelligence for 34 years. He fought at Pearl Harbor and was awarded the Purple Heart. He served on the Yorktown and fought in the Battle of Midway. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After retiring from active duty, he was assigned to the National Security Agency to continue his work in special intelligence. He also served as chief in charge of Armed Forces Police. During his career, the Chief of Navy Personnel requested his expertise to work with Naval security groups. He was awarded many letters of appreciation for his outstanding performance of duty by the Chief of Naval Operations. He was an accomplished musician, and owned and played in three dance bands during his tours in Germany, Japan and the Philippines.
