Funeral services for Curtis Junior SMITH, 89, of Vian were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Vian, with the Revs. Ralph Gilstrap and Vernon Smith officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Mr. SMITH was born Jan. 2, 1909, in the Round Mountain community, to John James SMITH and Maggie Ada (SPECK) SMITH. He died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Muskogee. He married Chloe Elizabeth BERRY Aug. 27, 1932, in Vian.

Survivors include his wife, Chloe E. SMITH of the home; three daughters, Willa Jean, Mary Ruth and Kitty Lynn; four sons, Jim, Bib, Bill and Jerry Lee; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dicie.
