Records of Hazel Lee Martin of Oakville, Appomattox County, Virginia. She is a direct descendent of Robert Coleman and is still living in the area where
Robert Coleman lived. Records of Sue Booker Christian -descendent of Charles
Coleman and his wife Elizabeth Sears.
He was on the Libert Chapel Baptist Church roll in 1830.
Henry Coleman was a miller, owning and operating Coleman's Grist Mill in
Buckingham (Appomattox Co) after 1845. The farm site was located on White Oak
Branch which runs into Bent Creek, approximately 10 miles N W of the town of
Appomattox. Ron, Marlene, Hazel Lee and her sister Lucile walked thru the woods
to the site of the old mill on White Oaks Branch and saw the old stones that
formed the dam on each side of the branch, on October 11, 1993.
1850 census shows age as 55, i.e. born 1794/5.
