Sister Silvia, 100, died of pneumonia Saturday at the Incarnate Word convent in Normandy.
Sister Silvia was born in Germany, entered the Sisters of Charity order in 1909 and came to the United States when she was 22.
Until her retirement to Incarnate Word Convent in 1974, Sister Silvia served orphanages and convents in Missouri, Illinois and Texas.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Kesnitz of West Germany.
