The Daily Argus, Mount Vernon, NY Sept. 22, 1936
MRS. MICHAEL J. KELLY
Ellen Kelly, sixty-nine, widow of Michael J. Kelly, died at 2:15 A.M. today at her home, 145 First Avenue, of heart disease, following a short illness.
Born in Ireland, a daughter of Jeremiah and Ann Crane [sic] Ford, she came to this country and to Mount Vernon about 50 years ago. She was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart and of Star of Mount Vernon Circle 351, Companions of the Forest of America.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Joseph and Edward, both of this city, and four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Dehan and Mrs. Florence Steffes, both of Mamaroneck, Mrs. Lillian Kershaw of Chicago, and Miss Anna Kelly of Mount Vernon.
Funeral services will be in the Church of the Sacred Heart Friday at 10 A. M., when the Rev. Joseph F. Blake, assistant pastor, will say the requiem mass. Interment will
be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle. The body is at the Burr Davis Mortuary until Friday at 9:30 A. M.
(Her youngest son listed her mothers maiden name as Crane on her death certificate. This appears to be incorrect. There are quite a few records that point to her being Ann Leary. Crane might fit in somehow but it's a mystery.)
