Lillie Hazel Brown Billingsley, 96, of Scaly Mountain, N.C. died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Macon County, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Andy and Delilah Owens Brown and the widow of Jim Billingsley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flats Middle Creek Baptist Church, Scaly Mtn., for 79 years. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by four sons, Juan Billingsley, Joe Ed Billingsley, Jimmy Billingsley and Bobby Billingsley; five brothers, Ransom Brown, Ed Brown, Lee Brown, Lloyd Brown and Harry Brown; three sisters, Belle Watkins, Edna Dryman and Dolly Billingsley. She is survived by two sons, Gene Billingsley and Homer Billingsley, both of Scaly Mountain; three daughters, Ruth Vinson, Alice Holt and Gail Head all of Scaly Mountain; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Flats Middle Creek Baptist Church, Scaly Mountain, with Rev. Oliver Rice and Rev. Dwight Loggins officiating. Burial was in the Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
