George Reynolds Snyder 1845–1907 was the son of Paris, KY silversmith James Snyder 1815–1852 and his wife Elizabeth Ann Reynolds 1826–1895.

HIs grandparents were George W. Sr and Catherine Snyder. George W. Snyder Sr (1780-1841) came from Bucks county, PA to Paris, Kentucky where he was a silversmith and clockmaker - noted for his invention of the Kentucky multiplyig fishing reel.

Elizabeth's parents were Michael Reynolds born 1800 and his wife Lucy Ann Winn born 1806.

George's siblings from this marriage were brother Robert J born c.1846 and sister Charles Anna born c.1850, who married a Mr Freeman and moved to MO.

George's father, James Snyder, died in Sep 1852, when George was aged 6; after which his mother married John C. Snyder, his paternal uncle. From this marriage came George's half-sister, Mary M "Mattie" Snyder born c.1858.

George was married on 10 Jun 1863, to Mary Elizabeth Goff. "Lizzie" was the daughter of Strauder Goff 1802–1854 & Sarah Ann Gay 1817–1851 of Clark Co, KY.
