ESTHERVILLE--Services for Mrs. Margaret Darling, 86, of Estherville will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Henry Chapel in Estherville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Darling died Sunday [January 12, 1975] at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Henry Funeral Home.

She was born Margaret Penn Oct. 20, 1888 in Graettinger, and married Solomon Crumrine March 16, 1910 in Estherville. He died in 1926. Her second marriage was May 10, 1928 to John Darling in Estherville. He died in 1958. She was a school teacher before her first marriage. She and her second husband farmed in the Wallingford-Estherville area.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Schaper of Maple Hill; three grandchildren, Mrs. Ruth Crosby of Wallingford and William and Bryan Schaper of Maple Hill; one sister, Mrs. Florence Swift of Graettinger. (Fairmont Daily Sentinel, Fairmont, Minnesota, January 14, 1975)

Estherville – Margaret Darling, 86, died Sunday morning at the Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Henry Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Throop of the Estherville Presbyterian Church officiating and burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 20, 1888 in Graettinger to William and Elizabeth Allen Penn and educated in the rural schools. She was married to Solomon Crumrine March 16, 1910 in Estherville. After his death in 1926 [1925] she was married to John Darling May 10, 1928 in Estherville. He died in 1958.

She had taught school and she and her husband farmed east of Wallingford and near Estherville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Estherville, had been active in Sunday School and UPW.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Schaper, Maple Hill, and three grandchildren, Mrs. Ruth Crosby, Wallingford; William and Brian Schaper, Maple Hill; and one sister, Mrs. Florence Swift, Graettinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers and three sisters.
