Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Chadwick.
Mr. Bowles was born April 3, 1915, in Port Byron, the son of Albert E. and Lucy Bowles. He married Ruth M. Riewerts Feb. 12, 1942, in Cordova.
He graduated from Port Byron High School.
He farmed all his life in the Chadwick area.
He was past president of Carroll County Livestock Feeder's Association and was a past board member of Lanark Mutual Life Insurance Co.
Survivors include the widow; daughters, Bette Lou Traenkenschuh, Peoria, and Vianne Carroll, Chadwick; grandchildren, Carmen, Todd and Shawn Carroll, all of Chadwick; and sisters, Elizabeth Reiling, Atkinson, and Edith Cooper, Moline.
