Esther Chapman Anderson, 89 of Bayard, Nebraska passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, Nebraska.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Bayard Cemetery with Pastor Paul West and Pastor Jerry Hackett officiating.

Friends may sign the register book at Bayard Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from noon to 5:00 p.m. The casket will be closed.

Memorials may be given to donors choice.

Esther was born on October 21, 1920 in Melbeta, Nebraska to Walter A. and Blanche F. (Wiley) Snyder. Esther lived in the Good Streak area and later moved to Bayard.
On November 6, 1937 she married the love of her life, James Wayne Chapman. To this union three daughters were born.

Esther and Wayne were very private people. They enjoyed fishing and gardening. Esther's family always came first, and she did a lot of canning and sewing for her family. Esther was an artist and painted many beautiful oil paintings.

Wayne passed away in 1983 and Esther later married Cal Anderson.

Due to failing health, Esther moved to Chimney Rock Villa in 2007. She was able to be roommates with her daughter Lois until Lois passed away in 2009. It was their wish to have their services together.

She was a member ofEsther is survived by her daughters Jean (Lee) Arehart of Kearney and Joyce (Rod) Trussel of Bayard; son-in-law Gene Hascall of Torrington, WY; ten grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren; brother Roland Snyder of Bayard; sisters Bonnie (Duane) Lombard of Greensboro, NC, Norma Backer of Scottsbluff, sister-in-law Ruby Snyder of Roseburg, OR and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Chapman, daughter Lois Hascall, brother Leland Snyder, sister Evelyn McFrall, sister-in-law Violet Snyder and brothers-in-law Ace Backer and Dr. George Lombard. the Assembly of God Church in Bayard.
