He was born Feb. 9, 1947, in Wideners Valley, Va., to the late Robert Guy and Larnie Adams Barr.
He was a member of Worldwide Church of God and worked for Bernhardt Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Wilson Barr of the home; a son, Robert Lee Barr of Morganton; four daughters, Mrs. Tom (Tammy) Rowsey of Hudson, Mrs. John (Patricia) Bradshaw of Lenoir, Mrs. Chuck (Janet) Swank of Lenoir and Ms. Deborah Barr of Morganton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in the Barr Family Cemetery in Konnarock, Va. The family will receive friends Monday evening 7-8:30 p.m. at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home. Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory of Lenoir is in charge of arrangements.
