As noted by Dennis Brandt in a message to George Stradtman, this individual could well have been the son (born in Pennsylvania in about 1844) of George and Susanna Corl. The 1860 United States Census shows them near the Sheafferstown post office in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Quoting Mr. Brandt: "He stood 5' 10" tall and had sandy hair and blue eyes.... A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Harrisburg August 23, 1864, mustered into federal service there August 24 as a private with Co. F, 200th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 30, 1865. He is also on the unassigned roster of the 201st Pennsylvania Infantry, but there is no notation of a transfer."
