He was born April 19, 1943, in Knox County to the late Gail and Eleanor Richert. He was a truck driver most of his life, and was president of C.L. Richert Trucking Co. Inc. of Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Jelloway.
Carroll is survived by his wife, Wilma, whom he married Sept. 11, 1960. He is also survived by sons, Donnie and Ronnie of Howard; a granddaughter, Alexis; a grandson, Gavin; and brothers, Clair (Jo Anne) Richert and Lowell (Shirlie) Richert, and a sister, Mary (John) Loyd, all of Danville.
Calling hours and memorial will be Saturday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville.
