Joseph was my great-grandfather, and he WAS famous. He came to this country in 1888, and immediately began work in the labor movement. He was instrumental in setting up the ILGWU after the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire in New York City. He worked with Jacob Riis to help improve the housing, food, and medical care of those who lived in New York's tenements. When he died, thousands came to his funeral, including Rabbi Stephen Wise. He was a powerful, moral man, I'm proud to carry the Barondess blood in my veins.

I don't know you and they've haven't written much about you here, but I am a firm and true believer in the labor movement and I know it's not an easy road to go down. I thank you for taking a stance. Rest in peace.
