Funeral services for Rev. Tuler Burton Marler, widely known minister, were conducted Sunday, September 16, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home by Rev. John Silvey of Ava, assisted by Rev. Archie Halford of Mansfield. Burial was in the Ava cemetery.
Rev. Marler was born at Marshfield, Mo., March 8, 1865. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. David Marler. He died September 14, 1951, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. T. Robertson of Ava. He was 86 years, 7 months and 6 days old.
Mr. Marler was converted at an early age and united with the Free Will Baptist church. He was ordained to preach the gospel in January 1889, at the age of 24. He pastored and preached in many churches and witnessed many conversions. His singing was a blessing to many people.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Brixey on April 11, 1884 and to this union nine children were born, five of whom preceded him in death. His wife died January 16, 1932. He is survived by four children, Mrs. J. T. Robertson of Ava, Mrs. Stanley Puffer of Ely, Nev., A. D. Marler, Tulsa, Okla., and Warner Marler, Ava, and 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Several out-of-town relatives were in Ava Sunday to attend the funeral service held for T. B. Marler, who died Friday in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Robertson, after a lingering illness.
In the group were A. D. Marler, son of the deceased, and Mrs. Marler, and Oliver Marler, all of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Steve Potter, sister of the deceased, and Willie Potter, both of Fordland, Mr. and Mrs. Hosie Blevins, Seymour, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brixey, Mrs. Gertie Channey, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Cairnes and daughter, Betty, and Mrs. Nora Brixey, all of Claremore, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Willie Eslick and Miss Daisy Hardwood, Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Marler, Marshfield, Rev. and Mrs. Cecil Robertson and daughter, Shalah, and Horace Rozell, all of Welling, Okla., and Rev. and Mrs. A. M. Halford and son of Mansfield.
