John's original naturalization was December 20, 1902, but he became a naturalized citizen on December 16, 1914,Tarrant Co., TX. His first employment was with the Fort Worth Fire Department as a (water)wagon driver, working his way up in the ranks: promoted to Lieutenant, Captain, and Battalion Chief. He died of a heart attack suffered "on the job". His name is on the Fallen Heroes Wall in Fort Worth, Texas.
