Veteran Lansdale Resident Was Bedfast Two Months; Funeral On Saturday
Charles H. Ahlum, seventy-five years old, a resident of Lansdale for more than
forty years, died yesterday at his home at 163 South Broad street.
Mr. Ahlum had been ailing for about a year and had been confined to bed for the
past two months. He was born at Milford Square but spent his childhood in
Quakertown. He was employed for many years with the Srawbridge and Clothier
Store, Philadelphia.
The survivors are his wife, Anna C. nee Rufe; two sons, Chester Ahlum, of
Chester, and Kenwood Ahlum of Doylestown; a brother Calvin E. Ahlum, Allentown,
and the following sisters, Mrs. Reuben J. Freed, Quakertown, Mrs. Herbert
Johnson, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Emma Tice, Allentown, Funeral services will be held
on Saturday afternoon.
