Cleopatra Apostal Acayan was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Cleopatra will be remembered as an outstanding individual.

Cleopatra was born on May 4, 1933 in the Philippines. She was the daughter of Cipriano and Cresencia Apostal.

Cleopatra was raised with five siblings. She had four brothers, Cipriano, Biendimial, Gibraltar and Bayani, and one sister, Cresencia. Cleopatra was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

Always considered a "good" friend to those she knew, Cleopatra enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Oya and Asuncion. Later in life, she became friends with Asuncion and Ligsay.

On December 24, 1961 Cleopatra exchanged wedding vows in a Catholic church in the Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Cleopatra was committed to making her new family happy.

Cleopatra worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Cleopatra was blessed with one daughter, Divine Acayan Cason. Another blessing for Cleopatra was the gift of two granddaughters, Maryann and Amanda Cason.

Cleopatra enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuit was reading the Bible. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.

Cleopatra was a woman who took pride in upholding her beliefs. So it is little wonder that she took an active role in her community, serving on committees for the church. Cleopatra's faith was important to her. She was a member of the Church of the Most Precious Blood for 18 years.

Cleopatra enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included the Philippines.

Cleopatra was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Sammy, a cat. They were best friends for 6 years. Her family was rounded out by her dog of 2 years, Charlie.

When Cleopatra's retirement finally arrived in 2000, she was well prepared. Even in retirement, Cleopatra continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Cleopatra was active in her new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her.

Cleopatra passed away on January 31, 2009 at Kaiser Zion Hospital in San Diego, California. Cleopatra fought a brave battle against cancer. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses. Cleopatra was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.

Simply stated, Cleopatra was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives.
