The daughter of the late A. T. Harmon and the late Lou Shoemaker, she was born in Clay County where she resided most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Franklin Carlisle of Woodland; two daughters, Bennie Freeman and Carolyn Akins, both of Houston; two sisters, Odell Newell of West Point and Fannie Lou Houser of Houston; two brothers, Hamp Harmon of Houston and Bill Harmon of West Point; four grandchildren and five great grand children.
Pallbearers were Walter Newell,Charles Newell, Billy Harmon, J. E.Pumphrey, Rex Pumphrey and Pete Dexter.
