BIGLER — Mrs. Virgie Mae Maines, 77, of Bigler, was dead on arrival Saturday morning, Dec. 27, at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born in Bradford Township July 14, 1898, a daughter of Alexander and Liza Jane (Loder) Bumbarger.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Luther (Hettie) Dixon of Sandy Ridge; Bennie of Bigler, Robert of Illinois; Ralph, Ray and Mrs. Martha Buck, all of Woodland, Mrs Wallace (Violet) Dixon of Bigler; Harry of New Castle; Wilbur of Jessup, Iowa; Chester of Rapids City, S.D.; Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Feasler of Erie; Mrs. Bertha Buck and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Cupp both of Clearfield, Mrs. Eldon (Katherin) Butterworth of Punxsutawney and Harold of Bigler.
Sixty-one grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
Three brothers and sisters survive: Ashley Bumbarger, Croft and Miss Elsie Bumbarger and Mrs. Bessie Showalter, both of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buris, two sons, five grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home Inc. the Rev. William Rall will officiate and interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today and until the hour of services tomorrow.
