MITCHELL - Dorothy Stone Moranville, 82, went to be with her Lord Friday, March 26, 2010, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. On June 16, 1946, Dorothy married Floyd Willis Stone, to this union three children came, (Leonard) Wayne, Roxanne Gail and Marsha Lynn. They spent most of their married life in Morrill. Dorothy began work at Couplamatic Corporation in 1968 as a Quality Control Clerk; she remained with the company when it was purchased by the Eaton Corporation retiring in 1984 when the company sold to Kurt Manufacturing. Dorothy was united in marriage to Howard F. Moranville Aug. 1, 1975. Their home was peaceful except for the days that the Huskers and Sooners played football against each other. Even though she spent most of her life in Nebraska, Dorothy's heart always remained in Oklahoma.
In her earlier years, Dorothy enjoyed many hobbies such as cross-stitch, golfing, sewing and water-walking in the Splash Arena in Scottsbluff. She will always be known best for her cooking; Dorothy had a good meal for every occasion, and her culinary talents live on through her family. She was a wonderful "Grammy" to her many grandchildren, and made many batches of "Dauber" cookies for them. For the past several years she struggled with macular degeneration, which took her away from many of the things she enjoyed. Despite not being able to see, she gained a great deal of enjoyment from reading, thanks to the Library of Congress's Talking Book program.Dorothy never lost her sense of humor, incredible memory and attention to detail. She was also a great friend to many people; she always had an ear to listen and was great with advice. In the late 90's Dorothy and Howard began attending Westway Christian Church. She was baptized in 2002 at the age of 75 and Howard was baptized in 2006. They both gained a lot of joy and comfort from their small bible study group at West-way.She is survived by her husband, Howard of Mitchell; children, Wayne (Sincere) Stone of Gurnee, Ill.; Roxanne (Darrell) Boyer of Rapid City, S.D. and Marsha Stone of Kearney; step-children, Jim (Linda) Moranville of Kearney; Sandy (Craig) Kern of Estes Park, Colo.; Boni (Denny) Waddle of Elwood and Gary (Pam) Moranville of Ault, Colo.; brothers, Truman Miller of Oklahoma City, Okla. and John Miller of Edmond, Okla.; sisters Louise Lackey of El Reno, Okla. and Barbara Dye of Seminole, Okla.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
