One of 9 children. Son of Alonzo Putnam Force and Sarah Deborah Van Dorn Force in Adrian, Michigan. Moved to California in 1910. Met and married in 1915 Lena Belle (went by Belle) Hill daughter of Samuel Hill and Lena Underwood Hill. Fathered 5 children, Harold Hill, Francis Alonzo, Anita Belle, Marian and Norma LaRue. 17 grandchildren. Was a farmer and also worked for the electric company living and working in the desert near Holtville. Father-in-law Samuel Hill built a house on homestead in Orange County on property next to his house for Ed and his family. Ed took the family to Newport Beach in the summers (for a cooler summer) than the SW portion of Anaheim (Chapman&Dale)near Beach Blvd., aka highway 39. They swam in the ocean, body surfed and fished. He also farmed in the old Talbert District of Orange County, later years to be known as Fountain Valley. Talbert District was quite a peat bog area, and Ed lost a tractor in one of these.
