NOTE: He left a will dated Jun 8,1724, proved at Mendon on Sep 10,1725. In the will, mention is made of his daughter Prissilla Corbett, son-in-law Isaac Thayer (husband of his daughter Mercy), deceased son Joseph, son-in-law Jonathan Hayward (husband of his daughter Trial), and son-in-law Nicholas Cook (husband of his daughter Johannah). He also mentions "wife Rebecca", which indicates he remarried. Several online trees indicate John died in 1680, but the will disproves this. Some of these same trees suggest it was his wife who died in 1724, which is possible if he married Rebecca very shortly thereafter.

He married Joanna Ford on Sep 15,1662 at Braintree,MA.

Children: John Rockwood Jr, Priscilla Rockwood Corbett, Johannah Rockwood Cook, Anna Rockwood Darling, Joseph Rockwood, Mercy Rockwood Thayer, Trial Rockwood Hayward, and Deliverance Rockwood.
