CHESTERFIELD--Cora Ethel Owens Scott,88, 111 E. Plum St., died Tuesday in St. John's Medical Center, Anderson, after a long illness.
Mrs. Scott was born in Burkesville, Ky., and had lived in the Chesterfield area since 1933. She was a nurse's aide for 14 years at St. John's Medical Center before retiring in 1969. She was a member of Parkview Wesleyan Church, Chesterfield.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Mildred Hall, Middletown, Annabelle West, Russell Springs, Ky., and Phyllis Hagerman, Yorktown; a son, Kenneth A. Scott, Chesterfield; four brothers, Charles Owens and Walter Owens, both of Anderson, James Owens, Markleville, and Illas Owens, Burkesville, Ky.; two sisters, Kizzie Johnston, Anderson, and Anna Norris, Chesterfield; nine grandchildren, Danny Hall, Jane Ellen Hall, Austa Scott Barclay, Stephen Blaine West, Scott Aaron Hagerman, Jeffrey Ross Scott, Mark Allen West, Todd Lee Hagerman and Arlena Bethann West Collins; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Austin Scott; a brother, Roy Owens; a grandson, David Hall, and her parents, John and Vianna McIntyre Owens.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Parkview Wesleyan Church, with Rev. LeRoy Hines officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Calling will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Robert D.
