Al returned to Heavenly Father peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning, June 6, 2010. He resided at 3980 South 750 West in Millcreek Township, Utah at the time of his death.

He was born June 5, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alger Sr. and Anna K. Bruehl Meadowcroft. He joined the Marine Corps in 1952 and served in the Korean Conflict.

When he returned, he met and married Belva Cooper. From that marriage, came two lovely daughters, Sylvia (Ron) Bevan and Penny (Richard) Shirley, of California. Al and Belva divorced. He met and married Peggy Cooper and they had one son, Scott; they divorced. He met and married Joan Helmick and from that marriage had two sons, Richard D. and Danny A. (Natalie) Meadowcroft, and a precious daughter, Kelly (Jude), of England. They later divorced and he then found his soul mate, Nancy Tew, and has lived a storybook marriage for forty-one years. From this marriage he inherited two loving step-sons, Lonnie Tew, Salt Lake City and Tim (Anna) Tew, West Valley City.

Al is of the Catholic faith and his hobbies were gardening, reading, and picnics. He was a truck driver for most of his life with Wycoff Co. and IML, and the last few years employed with Aero Tech Manufacturing.

Survived by brothers: Richard (Kathy) Carter, Lehi; Leroy (Virginia) Carter, West Valley City; sister, Barbara Meadowcroft, Florida; and too many to mention grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), where a viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
