Pvt. Koch was killed in action 3-6-1945 while serving with the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 8th Armored Infantry Division in Germany. He had been overseas less than two months before he died.

Pvt. Koch is the son of Mr. Millard J.& Mrs. Glenna {Greeley} Koch of 112 Gilbert Street in Peoria, Illinois. Pvt. Koch is a 1944 graduate of Peoria High, and was its Senior Class President. He enlisted in the Army on 9-6-1944, and did his training at Camp Croft, South Carolina, and was sent overseas as a replacement on January 22, 1945, and leaves two brothers, Gene at the University of Illinois, and Paul at home.
