Lois was born in Virginia, where she was a former resident of the Tidewater area. She was a member of the former Norfolk First Church of Nazarene, a member of the Maury High School Class of 1948 and a graduate of Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951. She married James C. Hickman, and they later moved to Franklin, Tennessee. She was a member of the Franklin Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Newton Posey and Dorothy Steele; and her brother, Buddy Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James C. "Jimmy" Hickman; daughters, Beth (Ron) Ferguson, Sharron (Vince) Wilcox and Beverly Anne Hickman, all of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bradley (Damen) Ferguson of Shanghai, China and Jason (Aby) Ferguson of Austin, Texas, Lauren and Allison Wilcox; and great-grandson, Colin Ferguson.
