He was born in Riceville on May 29, 1909 to Sam and Lyde Jennison and was united in marriage to Margaret Benson in 1928. They resided on the family farm northeast of Riceville until 1973 when they moved to Jennison Inn in Riceville, which they owned and managed as a hotel for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, three daughters, Mary Yager, Riceville; Jean Jenkins, Decorah, and Jane Elliott, Osage; three sons, Charles, Riceville, Sam from Burlington and Steve from Littleton, Colorado; and one sister Blanche Hogan of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, a brother and an infant daughter, Anne Irene.
Services were held Saturday, July 7 at Conway Funeral Home in Riceville, with Rev. Rick Magstadt as officiant, interment was at Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.
