Memorial services for Charles Iankes Sanders, 52, of Lubbock were held at W.W. Rix Chapel with Rev. Cliff Mann officiating.

The cremated remains were buried at Memorial Gardens, Fair View Cemetery in Sante Fe, N.M.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

Sanders died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Roswell, N.M. He married Louise Noone on Dec. 31, 1991, in Clovis. He began his career as a systems engineer and architect at the Texas Tech computer laboratory. He was programming manager at Furr's Cafeteria in Lubbock for several years. He established a software group in Santa Fe for a short time, returning to Lubbock in 1988 to work at Lubbock Data Center where he was the director of software development and became the principal architect of a software solution that has become worldwide in application.

In 1991, he was employed by EDS as a consultant systems engineer and worked in product development. For three years he was a member of the EDS Global Telecommunication Group and a consultant for a major Asian telecommunications carrier. He left EDS in 1998 to work with SAP, America-Telecommunication as an industry segment manager.

Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Dominique Noone of Lubbock; his parents, Charles and Ruth Sanders of Santa Fe; a brother Tom Sanders of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Jean Schies of Cleona, Pa., and Mary Margaret Sanders of Santa Fe.
