Basement level sounds so bad. Lower terrace sounds much better and is cemetery lingo.

Your namesake middle school was fondly remembered at a wedding a few weekends past and toasted. Rest in Peace, Governor Gage.

I went to Gage Jr., High in Huntington Park named in his honor of course. I've no idea what he accomplished as Governor. But thousands of young teens endured Gage Jr High and came out stronger/tougher for the experience. So what ever trickery he did as a politician and pal of the Huntington's he should get some points "off." A lot of us did a lot of "offering up for the poor souls in Purgatory" while at Gage.
Rest in Peace Governor.
