Son of the late D.L. and Alma Arnold, he worked in the oil industry drilling test wells before joining the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked at Carmichael's Auto Parts in Moultrie, GA, for more than 40 years. He was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church in Moultrie where he served as a deacon for several years. He was survived by his wife, Sheila C. Arnold; a son, Johnny M. Arnold (Linda); a daughter, Linda Yates (Bobby); two grandchildren, Keith Yates (Stacey) and Amy Yarborough (Bo); and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Yates and Kaitlyn Yarborough. His funeral was held March 4, 2005, at Crestwood Baptist Church with The Rev. Randall Kennedy and The Rev. J.P. Norman officiating.
