Alma Partin Allen
RALEIGH -- Alma Partin Allen, 94, of 4560 New Bern Avenue, died Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Wellington Nursing Center.
Mrs. Allen was born March 28, 1908 to the late Joe Partin and Effie Jones Partin. She was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College where she received her teaching degree. Mrs. Allen retired with 30 years of service, teaching 3rd grade at Knightdale Elementary.
Funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Knightdale United Methodist Church. Burial, church cemetery.
Survivors: daughter, Judy Allen Taylor and her husband Zack of New Bern; grandchildren, Brian Taylor and his wife Missy and John Taylor and his wife Joan; great- grandchildren, Max Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Jake Taylor, Josh Taylor, and Mimi Taylor; companions of 21 years, Angela and Bob Gilbert of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Webb Allen, November 18, 1980, and brothers, Badger, Braxton, Waylon and Jack Partin.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2002, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545, and other times at the Allen homeplace where Mrs. Allen lived for 90 years, 4560 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610.
