Dorothy Louise "Dottie" Weaver, 47, of 517 Lee's Mill Road died Wednesday, August 7, in a three-car accident on U.S. 74 one mile form Lilesville. The wreck happened at approximately 10:40a.m. when a car driven by Wendy Redmond 27, Lilesville, attempted to turn left across of U.S. 74 to enter Secondary Road 1801 (Pitt Road). According to a spokesperson from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Redmond pulled into the path of a car driven by Thomas Weaver, 46, Laurinburg. Mr. Weaver's car stuck a car driven by Edward Rivers, 66, Lilesville. The spokesperson said Redmond has been charged with a safe movement violation and death by motor vehicle. The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2p.m. in North Laurinburg Baptist Church by the Revs. Lewis McLean and Blaine Phelps. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California. Surviving are her husband the Rev. Thomas W. Weaver of Laurinburg; one son Cameron Weaver of Laurinburg; daughters Crystal L. Kessler of Maryester, Fla., Mona Weaver of Modesto, Calif., and Candace Weaver of Laurinburg., and the late Elmer Thompson., mother Christine Gragg Thompson of Modesto.
