Mrs. Fred J. (Hattie H.) Funk, Sr., 80, of 11 S. Edison Avenue,Elgin died today in Sherman Hospital, Elgin, following a brief illness.
She was born December 29, 1892, in Elgin, the daughter of John and Pauline Pahlke Friedland. She made her home in Elgin all of her life.
Surviving are the widower; one son, Fred J. Funk Jr. of Elgin; four sisters , Mrs. George D. (Lillian) Carbary, Mrs. William (Alice) Plagman and Mrs. Harold (Laura) Heuer, all of Elgin, and Mrs. Matie Wiard of Santa Rosa, CA, and one brother John C. Friedland of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one borther, Walter Friedland.
Private Christian Science funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Stout Funeral Home, Elgin. William A. Powell CS, officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
