He married Hannah Elizabeth Buck on March 28, 1888. They went on to have eight children: Walter, Violet, Charles, Jack, a stillborn daughter, Gilbert, Martha, and Ethel.
Walter never owned an automobile, always traveling on his faithful horse Bell.
He was a favorite among his grandchildren, being a very loving grandfather who always seemed to have a never-ending supply of peppermints and licorice sticks for them.
Walter was a quiet, honest, dedicated, industrious, hard-working man. He had a desire to improve and make everything for his family worthwhile, always doing his best for them. He was a religious man and believed that there was a plan and purpose for every person on earth.
Walter died on November 29. 1941 in the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
