Funeral services were held for Arnold O. Holden, 68, of Lucedale, August 16, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. from Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
A resident of Lucedale, he was a retired carpenter from Ingalls Shipbuilding and was employed with George county. He also served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He died August 10, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Holden of Lucedale; five sons, Christopher Robin Holden of Atmore, AL, Joe A. Holden of Thomasville, AL, Ernie Holden of Pensacola, FL., Danny Estes of Newton and Chris Estes of Lucedale; four daughters, Libby Kirby, Henrietta Adams, both of Atmore, AL, Penny Herrington of Carolina Beach, NC, and Kim Clark of Key West, FL.; two brothers, S. T. (Eloise) Holden and Gerald (Mildred) Holden, both of Vancleave; two sisters, Merrill Doswell and Estelle Peterson, both of Vancleave; 20 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. and Olivia G. Holden; and son, Timothy R. Holden.
Pallbearers were Terry Peterson, Marty Peterson, Michael Vaughan, Alan Holden, Kevin Holden, and Houston E. Holden. Honorary pallbearer was Jimmy Holden.
Interment was held in the Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula with Rev. Benson Bexley officiating the services.
