Survivors include wife of sixty-one years, Nola Mae Wilhite Hancock; son, Leroy ''Andy'' Hancock Jr. of Cascade, Idaho, son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Bonnie Hancock of Walls, Mississippi; daughters and sons-in-law, DeAnna Carolyn and Virgil Cooley of Townsend, Gwenda and Donald Stephenson of Townsend, Cynthia and Rocky Dukes of Memphis; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sallie Mae and Joel Bumbalough of Ocala, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Chris Reneau and Rev. Brad Bryant officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at Caylors Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.

Leroy Hancock, Sr. s/o James Payne and Bertha Mae (Pollard) Hancock. Married Nola Mae Wilhite d/o Herbert Irwin and Pearl Victoria (Kyker) Wilhite, 26 Nov 1938 in Clinton, Anderson County, TN. Six children: DeAnna Carolyn Hancock Cooley, Leroy, Jr. "Andy" Hancock, Kyle David Hancock, Gwenda Lou Hancock Stephenson, Clinton Eugene Hancock, and Cynthia (Cindy) Jane Hancock Dukes.
Occupation: Driver Knoxville Transit Lines, Knoxville; retiring to Townsend to own and operate the Arrowhead Grocery at Kinzel Springs (Townsend).
Enjoyed fishing with his wife and oil painting.
