Alice Blackburn of Oolitic, IN, died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on January 29, 1919, in Dugger, IN, she was the daughter of Bill and Stella (Blake) Thompson. She married Gordon K. Blackburn on May 19, 1938, and he died January 2, 1974.

Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Blackburn of Heltonville, IN, and Larry Blackburn of Bedford, IN; five daughters: Marilyn Peters and Stella Trowbridge, both of Oolitic, IN, Sue Goins and Brenda Gross, both of Bedford, IN, and Betty Sanders of Leesville, IN; two sisters, Geraldine McGowen and Pearl Galloway, both of Mooresville, IN; twenty-three grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Thompson; and two sisters, Clara Kern and one in infancy.

She was a homemaker and was of Protestant faith.

Services for Alice Blackburn will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. The place of burial is pending. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
