Betty Ann (Lewis) was born on March 2, 1937 in Hawkins, Oklahoma to the late Genevieve Catherine (McDonald) Lewis and Afton Ray Lewis.
She attended school in Chickasha. Betty married Kendall Dykes on August 12, 1954. The couple moved to Broken Arrow, and Betty was the owner of Arrow Flowers & Gifts before retiring after 16 years.
She was an active member of the Church of Christ. She was also active in the Broken Arrow Chamber Commerce. She will be lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her as a wonderful person who made it her life's ambition to help anyone in need at any time.
Betty Dykes was surrounded by her family when she went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 1, 2006 after a brave battle with her illness.
She is survived by: Her husband of 52 years, Kendall Dykes of the home; Her children, Kendy McWherter of Tulsa; Karen Edwards of Nashville, Tennessee; Ken Dykes of Bixby; 11 grandchildren; two sisters; and seven brothers.
