Anna Maria married Fredrick Karl Aebi on 17 October 1874 in Berne, Switzerland. We are not sure when Fred came to the US but Anna Maria left Le Havre, France, aboard the Ship La Bretagne with her children, Carl, Rosette, Lina, Gottfried,and Ernst. The children were ages 11, 10, 4, 3 and 2 respectively. They traveled in steerage, in an area reserved for ladies only. They arrived at the Port of New York on July 23, 1888. The Kansas State census indicate they came to Kansas from Switzerland which probably means that Frederick came first and prepared a place for them in Liberty Township, Dickinson County. Two more children, Emma and Louis were born to Fred and Mary in Kansas.
