F.M. Palmes of Circleville was working at his trade carpentering up on a barn and Westport on Monday of last week when by some means he lost his footing and fell to the ground. A distance of about 23 feet. His skull bone was crushed in. He was otherwise badly injured and was rendered totally blind. He lingered until Sunday when his death came to his release. His accident was a sad one and his family was dependent upon his support. His funeral took place last Monday.

August 7, 1881 – When he died.
August 8, 1881 – Funeral held.
