Charlie received his education in the Flandreau Public Schools, graduating in 1934. He worked as a mechanic until he moved to California where he worked in a defense plant until he entered the US Army for World War II. He was married April 4, 1937 at Sibley, Ia, to Mildred Lampson. After his discharge from the service, he returned to Moody County and farmed ten miles north of Colman in Fremont Township. He was a member of the Colman American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Colman; one daughter, Patricia Ann, Mrs. Jon Walker, Flandreau; his mother, Alice Campbell, Woodland Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren; one sister, Lucille L eddy, Woodland Hills, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. and one granddaughter, Anne.
