He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Marietta, a son of Archie Watson and Emma Catherine Reel Adams. He was a member of the Reno Christian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108, Marietta. Delbert did auto body work for Pioneer Chevrolet-Cadillac of Marietta and later Summers Pontiac-Buick.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Schofield (Steven) of Whipple; son, Delbert Adams Jr. of Dalzell; two grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Schofield, both of Whipple; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Wheeler of Belpre; two brothers, Virgil Adams (Elsa) of Oregon and Harold Adams (Ruth) of Marietta; a sister, Hilda Ward of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda Schneider Adams; and two brothers, Wilbert and Lloyd Adams.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Reno Christian Church, 27220 State Route 7, Marietta, with Pastor Pat Matheney officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites. Hadley Funeral Home, Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, assisted with arrangements.
