BLESS YOU, KEMO!! You inspired my kid (who hated long division) to love math and give it his all. In 11th grade he passed his AP Calc with the highest score and went on to major in Computer Sci at UCI. We lost a good one when we lost you. May you rest peacefully in His keeping. Always, Linda

I remember you best as Uncle Lante my 10th & 11th grade math teacher 1981-1982, Thanx for caring Kemo. I didn't grow up to "pump gas for a living. I do occationally "go to the beach". I have taught my son the word "Ganas". Peaceful rest Kemo you did real good.

i was just beginning as an instructor at us navy schools when i saw the film 'stand and deliver'. it was an inspiration to me and showed me how to teach in an interesting way what normally can be very dry material...mr escalante and my brother, robert, who is also interred there at rose hills, can keep each other company

En nuestra familia "Stand & Deliver" es la pelicula que todos les gustan! Myself as a math teacher, my husband with an Hispanic background (the first in his family to go to college and now a doctor) & our kids because it's just a great movie. So I was very pleasantly surprised to find Jaime Escalante buried in the same cemetery as my parents.

Dear Mr. Escalante,I was saddened to hear of your passing. I've never met you but I've watched Stand and Deliver. You inspired me to go back and learn math. Something I've never been able to do. I want to thank you for encouraging your students and also tell you that you are still inspiring people from beyond the grave.

With profound respect to you as a teacher; It's through the movie that I'm aware of you and your work. I know Garfield HS, because I know someone who went there and I went to a church near Garfield, the kids are the same; the systems of education are defecttive and the communities don't have fighters to buck the systems as in the movie, that represented your life. My respect to your memory and work.

Thank you for all of the good work you did and proving that children from improvished backgrounds should not be written off and can excel in math and science if given the chance. You truly left this world a better place than how you found it. Rest in peace, dear Sir.
